Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-22
This Privacy Policy explains how Taximeter (the “App”) and related web services (the “Service”) collect, use, store, share and delete data of drivers, managers, dispatchers, administrators and site visitors. It applies to the mobile app, backend services, admin panel, public website, support pages, reporting features and account deletion flows.
1. Data controller and contact
For privacy questions, access, correction, export, restriction, objection or account deletion requests, contact support@taximeter.io. If you use the Service through a fleet, employer, dispatcher or manager, that organization may act as an independent controller for part of your work data and may apply additional rules under its relationship with you.
2. Data we process
2.1 Account and authentication
- email address, hashed password, email verification codes and password change requests;
- driver ID, role, account status, login records, access/refresh tokens and admin panel cookies;
- app-scoped device ID/installation identifier, device and session information needed for security and correct sign-in handling.
2.2 Profile, fleet and work relationships
- name, contact details, avatar/profile image, language and interface preferences;
- vehicle information, tariffs, manager/driver invitations, manager notes, fleet or dispatcher association;
- service statuses, access rights, reporting settings and administrative actions.
2.3 Shifts, trips, calculations and reports
- shift start/end time, time zone, duration, trip count, distance, earnings, tips, expenses and commissions;
- trip data: start/end addresses, coordinates, distance, fare, tariff, payment method, notes and deletion/sync status;
- aggregated statistics, reports, exported files and operation history needed for accounting and audit.
2.4 Location and route data
The App processes precise and approximate location when needed for taximeter functions, active shifts, trips, distance calculation, navigation, GPS status, recovery after connectivity loss and route synchronization. During an active shift/trip, location may be processed in the background through a foreground service and system notification if you granted Android permissions. You can manage location permissions in device settings; disabling them may limit the taximeter, route, reports and sync features.
2.5 Support and communications
- ticket subject, messages, contact email, ticket status and conversation history;
- images or attachments you voluntarily send to support;
- technical details needed to diagnose the issue.
2.6 Device, diagnostics and local data
- network state, app version, system permissions, language, battery, notification and background-work settings;
- local databases, address/geocoding/route caches, offline sync queue, app logs and crash logs;
- local backups or export files if you use export or backup features.
2.7 Website and external links
When you visit the website, technical data such as IP address, user-agent, request date/time, requested page and basic server logs may be processed. The site links to Google Play, Telegram and email. After you follow an external link, the relevant service’s policy governs its processing. The App does not use advertising SDKs and we do not sell personal data.
3. Sources of data
Data comes from you during registration, sign-in, profile setup, shift/trip creation, support requests and website use; automatically from the App, device and server when features operate; and from managers, dispatchers or fleets when they manage work accounts, invitations, notes, tariffs or reports.
4. Purposes and legal bases
- providing Service features: account, shifts, trips, taximeter, navigation, reports, synchronization and support;
- performing user, employment, contractor or fleet arrangements when the Service is used in a work environment;
- security, abuse prevention, account protection, error investigation, data recovery and audit of actions;
- compliance with legal, tax, accounting, licensing, claims and other obligations;
- improving stability, performance, usability and quality of the Service;
- sending service messages, verification codes, shift/trip notifications, support replies and important changes.
Depending on applicable law, legal bases may include contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligation, consent, vital interests or steps taken at your request. If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it, but some features may no longer work.
5. Sharing data
We do not sell personal data. Access may be provided only as necessary to these categories of recipients:
- hosting, infrastructure, storage, email delivery, monitoring and technical support providers;
- Google Play, Android and device system services when needed for installation, updates, permissions, notifications and location operation;
- managers, dispatchers, administrators or fleets connected with your work account and access rights;
- public authorities, courts, advisers, auditors or counterparties where required by law, dispute, audit, safety or rights protection;
- a new owner or successor in a reorganization, sale of business or transfer of the Service with appropriate notice.
6. International transfers
The Service may use infrastructure and providers in different countries. When data is transferred outside your country, we use reasonable contractual, organizational and technical safeguards according to applicable requirements.
7. Retention and deletion
- account and core work data is kept while the account is active or while needed to provide the Service;
- shifts, trips, routes, reports and financial/accounting records may be kept longer for accounting, tax, audit, dispute and legal reasons;
- verification codes, temporary tokens, caches, sync queues, technical logs and crash logs are kept for the limited period needed for the feature or diagnostics;
- local device data can be removed through App tools, by clearing App data or uninstalling the App; data already synchronized to the server is deleted through the account deletion process;
- after a deletion request, we delete or anonymize data within a reasonable period unless retention is required for law, safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, rights protection or technical backups.
Account deletion instructions are available here: Account Deletion.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards: HTTPS/modern encryption in transit, password hashing, session tokens, role-based access controls, backups, logging and removal of stale data. No transmission or storage method is absolutely secure, so you should protect your device, password, email and work account access.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your country, you may have rights to access, copy/export, correct, delete, restrict, object, port data, withdraw consent and complain to a supervisory authority. You can also manage Android permissions, notifications, language, local logs, exports and some profile data in the App. To make a request, contact support@taximeter.io.
10. Children
The Service is intended for professional use by drivers, managers, dispatchers and administrators and is not intended for children. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact us so we can delete it.
11. Automation and advertising
The Service may automatically calculate distance, fare, statistics, sync statuses and reports from entered and technical data. We do not use App data to sell personal data or for advertising targeting. If advertising or analytics SDKs are introduced in the future, this Policy and Google Play disclosures will be updated before such processing starts.
12. Policy changes
We may update this Policy when features, legal requirements or processing practices change. The updated version is published on this page with a new date. Material changes may also be communicated through the App, website or email.
